The Hermit Test

Welcome to the Hermit Test from How Not to Be a Hermit.

This isn’t about labeling you a hermit. It’s about discovering the everyday habits that may be helping or hurting your connections with other people. Whether you’re outgoing, somewhere in between, or happiest with a little solitude, this test can help you better understand your social habits.

Surprisingly, people with the strongest hermit tendencies often don’t recognize them. But even if you’re naturally outgoing, you may discover a few habits that can make connecting with others even easier and more rewarding.

There are no right or wrong answers. Just have fun and see what you discover.

Start the Test

When you’re finished, you’ll discover your Hermit Index (HI), what it means, and what to do next.

Continue the Test

Keep going. This isn’t a test of popularity or personality. It’s simply a look at the habits and preferences that shape how you connect with the world around you.

Results (24-64): What They Mean

Add up your score, then find your range below. Your Hermit Index isn’t a label. It’s a snapshot of your current habits.

Something to Think About

Your score is only part of the story. Before you move on, give yourself a minute to reflect. The questions that made you smile, hesitate, or feel a little uncomfortable may reveal even more than your final score.
